Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) degree program. Students in our program receive high quality instruction in each of the 5 sub-disciplines in civil engineering: environmental, geotechnical, structural, transportation, and water resources engineering. Our students are exposed to hands-on opportunities to put their knowledge to work by participating in laboratory courses, internships, and research projects. Our graduates are poised to enter graduate programs and careers in industry and consulting.

Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering

The Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering (BSChE) degree program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org. Students seeking the BSChE degree must complete a minimum of 120 credits. This includes 62 credits in Math & Sciences/Humanities & Social Sciences; 52 credits in Engineering; an Engineering Elective (3 credits), and a Science/Engineering elective course (3 credits). M.Arch. Program

Students seeking to study architecture at Howard University beginning in the Fall 2018 semester will enter into the Master of Architecture program. The new configuration of architecture education at Howard University results from the Department of Architecture’s proposal for nomenclature change submitted to the National Architecture Accrediting Board (NAAB) in May 2017.

Health Sciences (Pre-Physical Therapy)

The Undergraduate Studies in pre-physical therapy prepares students to apply to the post baccalaureate program in Physical Therapy.  The department also offers a post graduate Doctor of Physical Therapy program for individuals who have previously received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy or Master of Physical Therapy from Howard University.
