Nutritional Sciences (Ph.D.)

The Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences at the Graduate School is designed to prepare students for nutrition-related careers in research, industry, public health, academia, and senior-level health consulting roles. The Ph.D. program emphasizes evidence-based approaches to the promotion of nutritional well-being and disease prevention among underserved communities, both nationally and globally. You may choose from two distinct fields of specialization: community nutrition and experimental nutrition.

The Master of Science (M.S.) in Nutritional Sciences at Howard's Graduate School is designed to prepare students for nutrition-related careers in research, industry, public health, clinical practice, and health consulting.  Program graduates have also pursued further graduate study at the doctoral level. Health Sciences (Pre-Physical Therapy)

The Undergraduate Studies in pre-physical therapy prepares students to apply to the post baccalaureate program in Physical Therapy.  The department also offers a post graduate Doctor of Physical Therapy program for individuals who have previously received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy or Master of Physical Therapy from Howard University.

Radiation Therapy

The primary responsibilities of radiation therapists are to provide service delivery for patients who have been diagnosed with cancer.  Career opportunities for radiation therapists include positions as staff radiation therapists, clinical instructors, managers, administrators, sales/private industry, researchers and educators. Many graduates pursue graduate study in the fields of medicine, dentistry, and public health to name a few.

Clinical Lab Sciences

The Clinical Laboratory Science profession is an exciting and rewarding health career.  Clinical laboratory scientists provide rapid access to laboratory test results that are critical for the diagnostic and treatment decisions necessary for the delivery of quality healthcare. Our four-year curriculum for the bachelor’s degree is divided into two sections: the Lower Division and Upper Division. Within the Lower Division, freshman and sophomores will complete general prerequisite courses in their first two years of the program.
