The Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering at Howard's Graduate School is designed for students interested in a broad range of areas in mechanical engineering. Our students engage in high-impact research to solve real-life engineering problems. Our program welcomes applicants with a background in mathematics, applied physics, chemistry, engineering, or physical science-related fields. Our graduate program will prepare you, like many of our graduate alums, for a career in research and development, or industry, or to pursue doctoral study.

The Ph.D. in Biomedical and Chemical Engineering at Howard's Graduate School is designed for students interested in pursuing research studies in areas like infectious disease, food engineering, biomechanics and modeling, energy and sustainability, and environmental remediation. As a Ph.D. student in our program, you will develop a holistic understanding of ethical, environmental, and social responsibilities.

The Master of Science (M.S.) in Chemical Engineering at Howard's Graduate School is designed for students interested in studying biochemical, environmental, and materials process engineering, among other related fields. Our program will prepare you, like many of our graduate alums, for a career in research, government, and industry, including in biotechnology, pharmaceutics, consumer products, manufacturing, and renewable energy. Other graduates go on to pursue further study at the doctoral level.

The Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Howard's Graduate School prepares a new generation of engineering graduates to engage in high-impact research addressing engineering and environmental problems. The Ph.D. in Computer Science at Howard's Graduate School provides intensive preparation in the analysis, design, and application of computing systems to solve complex issues in healthcare, transportation, cybersecurity, data science, and many other areas. Our program welcomes applicants with a strong aptitude for mathematics or programming or a background in computer science, mathematics, business, or other related disciplines. Our Ph.D.

The Master of Computer Science (MCS) at Howard's Graduate School provides intensive preparation in the analysis, design, and application of computing systems to solve complex issues in healthcare, transportation, cybersecurity, data science, and many other areas. Our program welcomes applicants with a strong aptitude for mathematics or programming or a background in computer science, mathematics, business, or related disciplines. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) degree program. Students in our program receive high quality instruction in each of the 5 sub-disciplines in civil engineering: environmental, geotechnical, structural, transportation, and water resources engineering. Our students are exposed to hands-on opportunities to put their knowledge to work by participating in laboratory courses, internships, and research projects. Our graduates are poised to enter graduate programs and careers in industry and consulting.

Students seeking to study architecture at Howard University beginning in the Fall 2018 semester will enter into the Master of Architecture program. The new configuration of architecture education at Howard University results from the Department of Architecture’s proposal for nomenclature change submitted to the National Architecture Accrediting Board (NAAB) in May 2017.
