Admission Requirements
Admission to the Bachelor of Science in Data Science program follows the standard Howard University admissions process.
New first-year and transfer students are admitted through the university's Admissions Office. Students currently enrolled in the university who wish to transfer into the Department of Mathematics or develop a double major or minor should have a grade point average of 2.00 or higher.

Degree Requirements
To earn the Bachelor of Science in Data Science, students must:
- Complete a minimum of 120 credit hours (Data Science Curriculum)
- Complete all required Data Science core courses
- Complete required mathematics, statistics, and programming coursework
- Complete approved concentration electives
- Complete an internship
- Successfully complete the two-semester Capstone Project
- Complete all Howard University General Education requirements
- Maintain the minimum GPA required by the University
- Satisfy Howard University residence requirements
The Capstone Project serves as the culminating experience, allowing students to apply data science methods to real-world problems through supervised research based on the selected concentration.
